Our Department of Economics started accepting students at the undergraduate level in the 2011-2012 academic year with the aim of raising competent individuals who can evaluate the economic developments occurring at the global and national level in an analytical framework. Since its establishment, the Department has adopted an educational approach that combines the theoretical and applied aspects of economics and focuses on an interdisciplinary perspective.
Our department aims to educate individuals who can approach economic problems with scientific methods, make data-based analysis, internalize critical thinking, and develop a sense of social responsibility. In this direction, our education program covers basic theoretical areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, development economics, history of economic thought, monetary and fiscal policy, as well as applied areas such as econometrics, statistics, research methods, information-supported modeling and analysis courses.
The program structure is designed to equip students with the qualifications to be employed in the public sector, private sector and non-governmental organizations, as well as to provide them with the necessary background for an academic career at the master's and doctoral level. Our graduates can be employed in a wide range of fields such as central banks, state-owned enterprises, banks, financial institutions, research centers and international organizations.
Our academic staff consists of faculty members who are experts in their fields, have published nationally and internationally, are involved in research projects and prioritize continuous development. Our students benefit from a strong academic advising system where they can communicate directly with faculty members and experience a multidimensional learning process through scientific, social and cultural activities.
Our department offers its students the opportunity to gain international academic experience through Erasmus+ and other international exchange programs, and also develops internship and practical training opportunities through various public and private sector collaborations.
As the Department of Economics, we are constantly improving our educational activities and research capacity in line with the goal of raising knowledge-based, productive and ethical individuals. Our goal is to make a qualified contribution to social development processes by training economists who can have a say at local, national and global levels.

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration was established in 2011 and the duration of education is 4 years. Students who graduate from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed by a manager in the public and private sectors, as well as a scientific perspective on social, political and intellectual issues.
Degree Awarded
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a “Bachelor's Degree in Economics”. This diploma allows graduates to work in various positions in the public and private sectors.

Students who have graduated from another formal education institution at undergraduate or graduate level or who have left their education halfway are exempted from overlapping courses if the content of the courses they have taken in the program they are affiliated with is appropriate.
Program Profile
The Department of Economics is a four-year undergraduate program that aims to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and analytical thinking skills to analyze economic events. The program offers basic courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, development economics, money-banking, public finance, history of economics, econometrics and statistics, as well as elective courses to deepen students in various areas of specialization. The language of instruction is Turkish.
The program provides students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to find employment in both the public sector (ministries, public banks, regulatory agencies) and the private sector (banking, finance, insurance, foreign trade, research institutions). In addition, graduates who gain the ability to critically evaluate economic developments can continue their academic careers through graduate education.
Within the program, students also have the opportunity to study at universities in Turkey and abroad through Erasmus+ and Farabi exchange programs.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Department of Economics have a wide range of employment opportunities in various fields of the public and private sectors. In the public sector, they can work as experts, auditors, controllers, inspectors, planners and analysts in organizations such as the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Ministry of Trade, Central Bank, Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Development Agencies and regulatory and supervisory agencies.
In the private sector, they have the opportunity to be employed in banking, finance, insurance, foreign trade, investment consultancy, marketing and research companies. In addition, graduates can work in various financial and consultancy services by turning to the fields of independent auditing and independent auditing.
Graduates who aim for an academic career can continue graduate programs and work as lecturers at universities. They also have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as public policy, economic analysis, financial modeling at national and international level.

Qualification Requirements and Rules
In order to graduate, students must have taken at least 240 ECTS credits in 8 semesters and achieved a diploma grade of 2.00 out of 4.00.

10 To be able to specialize in one of the fields of their choice but not directly included in the department such as general business management, marketing, human resources management, corporate finance, tourism management and public administration.
11 To have the goal of specializing in four of the sub-disciplines of economics chosen by the students themselves, such as public, industrial, agricultural, environmental and natural resources, labor, information and property economies, international finance, monetary banking, economic growth and development, political economy and econometric methods. Transfer to Higher Degree Programs
Students who successfully complete the undergraduate program of the Department of Economics can continue their graduate education and gain higher academic and professional qualifications. Graduates can apply to master's and doctoral programs, especially in fields such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Finance, Econometrics, International Relations and Public Administration.
Candidates who wish to receive graduate education in domestic or foreign universities recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) can apply if they meet the admission requirements of the relevant programs (ALES, language proficiency, undergraduate grade point average, etc.).
A bachelor's degree in economics provides graduates with the opportunity to pursue an academic career, as well as a significant advantage in terms of participation in the specialization exams of public institutions and organizations and the executive candidate programs of the private sector.
